Part of the mission of 沃拉沃拉大学 is to prepare students to be responsible members of an academic community by cultivating in each student a sense of personal and professional integrity.

Central to any scholarly endeavor is a commitment to seek the highest quality information, 验证该信息的准确性, 并注明出处. All work submitted for credit should also provide an honest representation of the knowledge and abilities of each member of the university community. 最后, adherence to standards of academic honesty builds a community of equity, 公平, 和信任. These principles form the basis for academic integrity guidelines.

违反学术诚信的行为包括作弊, 剽窃, 伪造, 误传, 伪造, 禁止合作, and other acts that create an unfair advantage or violate stated guidelines.  Departments or schools may have discipline-specific guidelines as indicated in course syllabi. Tools such as generative AI or problem-solving software should only be used if explicitly permitted for a particular assignment or class and must always be properly acknowledged. 学生 should consult the course syllabus for guidelines on the use of these tools and check with the course instructor for additional clarity if needed.

不诚实的例子包括但不限于:

• 在没有适当引用的情况下提交不是你自己的作品. This includes using material obtained in whole or in part from hard copy sources, 网站, 商业实体, or content generated or altered by software or artificial intelligence without proper acknowledgement or permission. 
• Copying work from another student or allowing others to copy your work.
• Collaborating on 作业 or examinations if not authorized to do so.
• Taking an assessment for another person or allowing someone to take an assessment for you.

• 使用电子设备，比如手机, 电脑, 聪明的手表, 或者其他可以复制的技术, 检索, or send information during an assessment if not authorized to do so.
• 在大学文件上伪造信息.
• Falsifying information that has a bearing on the excuse for class absence or missed requirements (exams, 报告, 作业, 等.).
• Stealing, reproducing, circulating or otherwise gaining access to unauthorized materials.

报告和成果

In any violation of academic integrity discovered before a student has completed a degree or certificate, instructors and administrators are expected to follow this procedure in a timely manner:

1. An instructor with reasonable evidence of a violation will talk privately with the student about the incident. If the student does not respond in a timely manner to 老师’s request to meet, 老师 will move on to step 2 and notify the student of any actions taken.
2. If 老师 is convinced an intentional violation occurred, 老师 will consult with the 系主任/school dean on the evidence and the action to be taken.
3. 协商后, 老师 may assign the student a failing grade for the assignment and/or for the class.
4. 如果有任何这样的行为，教练将会 提交一份描述该罪行的报告 and will send it to the Associate Vice President for 学术管理 (AVPAA) or Associate Vice President for 研究生 Studies (AVPGS), who will keep it on file for tracking further academic integrity violations. 学术管理 may consult the file when writing university recommendations.
5. 报告副本, 支持材料, 还有一封求职信 from the Associate Vice President are sent to the student and 老师.  如果学生希望, they may send a letter to the AVPAA (or AVPGS) to accompany the report in the student’s file. The student may also appeal the action to the Academic Standards Committee (or 研究生 Council).
6. The Associate Vice President may refer the report and 支持材料 to the Academic Standards Committee (or 研究生 Council) for further action based on the degree or extent of a violation. 如需转介, the student will be notified in advance of the committee consideration and have the opportunity to address the committee in writing. 委员会将审查这些材料, 包括任何学生的回应, 并有权采取进一步行动.
7. 如果发生多次违规, the AVPAA (or AVPGS) will submit the cases to the Academic Standards Committee (or 研究生 Council) for consideration of further actions including potential expulsion from the university. The student will be notified in advance of the committee consideration and have the opportunity to address the committee in writing.
8. If the student believes they have been treated in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner they may address their concern to the University Grievance Committee.

In any violation of academic integrity discovered after a student has completed a degree or certificate, 老师, 系主任, or school dean may recommend appropriate action to the Academic Standards Committee (研究生 Council for graduate students). The Associate Vice President will make a reasonable effort to contact the former student and apprise them of the situation and provide a copy of the report, 支持材料, 还有一封求职信. 委员会将审查这些材料, 包括任何学生的回应, 并有权采取进一步行动, 包括更改课程成绩或取消学位. If the student believes they have been treated in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner they may address their concern to the University Grievance Committee.
